台灣招牌在城市中是視覺感重的景色,充斥在生活環境周遭不停刺激著我們感官,刺激到後來,其實也對這突兀的視覺環境麻痺習慣, 將這種習慣成自然的感覺拿去呼應字的議題內容,呈現對生活環境的麻木。重新對招牌景色的感官經驗的想像,覺得台灣招牌像是森林一般無秩序的隨意生長, 形成類自然生機的空間結構。
Shop signs are the most noticeable objects on the street; they’re everywhere, stimulating our senses. Eventually, we’re numb to these signs. The words on the signs reflect the popular issues in Taiwan. When these words are seen everywhere, we get used to them, which sarcastically shows our numbness to the surroundings. The original idea of the work is the natural space structure created by trees growing freely in a forest, which are much like the shop signs in cities.
