Let us probe into what your body actually is: The coordinates we're given day by day aren't reliable anymore. In the complex relationship between flesh and machine, we wish to lead a return to the most primeval experience of the body.

Rules are an accumulation of social experience, massing up into what should be the sure way towards the achievement of dreams. But, is it possible that the so-called ideals exist only as a collective construct of a dreamland? Amidst the execution of rules both by machines and by our bodies, let us bring them into question and, directly using our senses, extend the understanding of our own stance: let the modern you and me wander amongst the intertwining rules and imaginations of the New Media Gym.

Department of New Media Arts, Taipei National University of the Arts, combines the theories and aesthetics of digital art as means to explore possibilities of form and expand the progressiveness of interdisciplinary artistic creation. The third graduation exhibition takes "New Media Gym" as their theme, mingling different technological elements of the digital era. In the midst of the rapid technological expansion which surrounds us, we inquire as of how to revive what's real, that is to realize clearly the possibilities within us and not become ossified. Through new media art creation and reflection, we redefine the limit between person, body and technology. Within the modern life, congested with an infinity of existing rules, what attitude can we take to stand on the most real New Media Gym?
