Is there fiction in the science? Is science a fiction? In my film scenario and artwork imagination, I take up sci-fi narratives to compose film plots and networked installation/performance.

There is a thread in my works that focuses on network construct and networked performance. We will rehearse other network(ed) possibilities in anticipating the foreseeable social network meltdown.

My brief bio
As an artist and filmmaker, Shu Lea Cheang has worked with a range of art mediums and film formats, including installation, performance, net art, public art, video installation, feature length film and mobile web serial. From homesteading cyberspace in the 90s to her current retreat to BioNet, her exploratory trajectory merges life and work. Born in Taiwan, living abroad since late 1970s, Cheang is currently residing in Paris.
These lectures are held on the occasion of Shu Lea Cheang’s film screenings in Taiwan.
